Ability Testing
ATA Recruitment is able to add value to your recruitment process by undertaking SHL Ability assessments, globally recognised as the single most effective method of measuring a candidate’s current ability and future potential. Including ability tests as a part of our recruitment and development solutions helps ensure that only the highest calibre of candidates are recommended to our clients for interview.
With consultants qualified to SHL Level A standard, we are able to undertake and mark assessments which test a candidate’s present and latent capabilities within a given area (Mechanical Engineering for instance). Feedback will then be issued to clients, allowing for identification of candidates which hold both the essential technical competencies, and also soft skills which are required for the organisational culture in which they are to work. Ability tests present a fair and effective mode of recruitment assessment, which leave candidates with a favourable impression of a client organisation, irrespective of the application outcome.
Tests include measures for verbal, numerical and inductive reasoning, manual dexterity, numerical computation, visual estimation, mechanical comprehension, technical understanding, fault diagnosis and spatial recognition.
Additionally, through providing an objective measure of ability, such testing can be provided to key clients in order to identify training needs and skills gaps of current employees. This will ultimately aid managers in becoming familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of each employee, enabling staff to be managed and developed more effectively.
