Plenty Of Opportunities In High Technology Industries - ATA Recruitment

Plenty of Opportunities in High Technology Industries

While the UK may only now be tentatively moving out of recession, high technology companies have weathered the storm better than most, according to leading recruitment consultancy ATA Selection.

Demand for specialists in electronics, included embedded software development, circuit design and research and development has remained high, despite the turbulent economic times.

“As politicians keep reminding us; the future competitiveness of the UK’s economy will depend upon us thinking more smartly and developing an innovative, high-technology sector of world-leading standards,” said Andrew Hardaker, Managing Director of ATA Selection.

“Companies in this sector appear to be thriving and there are good opportunities for highly-skilled people in these fields. These openings have existed throughout the recession and are increasing now that the UK’s economy is showing signs of recovery.

“We have noticed in particular a rise in vacancies for electronics design engineers in smaller companies. Larger companies too are also looking for qualified electronics engineers.”

ATA Selection, part of the wider RTC Group Plc, is one of the UK’s leading specialist recruitment consultancies which has more than 46 years’ experience of placing engineers. It operates out of 10 offices across the country.

One of the companies which ATA Selection has recently assisted in their recruitment needs is Global Invacom, which ranks as one of the world’s largest manufacturers of satellite and cable peripherals. Based in Althorne, Essex, it has recently recruited a mix of electronics design, mechanical design and embedded system engineers.

In a different part of the high-technology spectrum, ATA Selection have placed with Qioptiq, a world-leading company which produces thermal weapon sights for the British Army as well as a range of sophisticated technology for civilian and military aircraft and satellites.

“The UK has some of the most pioneering high-tech companies in the world and some of the most highly-skilled engineers,” said Andrew Hardaker.

“We take great care to understand fully the exact requirements of a client’s business and the culture of their company before we recommend anyone for interview.  Our consultants are skilled at assessing the abilities, experience, aptitude and attitudes of candidates, so we can match the right people to the client’s needs.
We pride ourselves on our ability to put forward candidates who will fit into a company from day one and are pleased to support some of the most innovative companies the UK has to offer”
