ATA Recruitment are working with a Global manufacturer of special purpose machinery and a supplier of sophisticated automation solutions. The European owned company are currently looking for an Applications Design Engineer to join their close-knit team in the U.K to aid with increasing client demands.
As a global market leader, they generate an annual turnover of 280 million and have 1,100 employees based over 30 different locations worldwide including USA, Korea, India and China.
The Role:
As an Applications Designs Engineer you will be working with experienced leadership within a close multi-faceted team.
Key responsibilities for an Applications Design Engineer will be:
- Supporting the sales team with feasibility studies.
- Arranging layout design of sites and calculations for conceptual work such as motor sizing, drive sizing, cycle time calculations, minor stress calculations.
- To Use Solidworks to model all the components for example shafts, bearing blocks, small components with tolerances of down to a micron.
- Modelling fabricated parts, base units, brackets, fixtures.
- Design reviews with customers.
- Produce cell layouts.
- Put together the technical manuals for operation, maintenance, and upkeep.
- Arrange bill of materials to pass to procurement.
- Involvement in site meetings with customers.
The Candidate:
The ideal Applications Design Engineer must possess:
- 3D CAD modelling experience using Solidworks and Inventor
- The ability to do design calculations
- Ability to produce a bill of materials
- Happy to support with activities on site when required
