Role – Buyer (Mechanical background)
Location – Normanton
Salary - £31-33k
Hours of work – Monday to Thursday 8-5pm & Friday 8-1pm
Holidays – 25days plus bank holiday
ATA Recruitment are working with a global leading manufacturing company based in Normanton, Wakefield who are now looking for an experienced buyer to join them.
As the Buyer you will work with a small team bringing knowledge of how to source for bespoke metal parts i.e. Polycarbonate, sheet metal, aluminium extrusions. You will also be responsible for making cost and time effective decisions on whether to source parts from the UK or abroad.
Other responsibilities of the Buyer:
Planning the purchasing of goods and raw materials based on company supply chain requirements and MRP demands
Source the best suppliers in terms of quality-cost and location
Negotiating economic and contractual conditions, i.e. time, cost, quantities, delivery terms
Managing purchases and inputting orders and details
Monitoring deliveries and stock levels
Improve storage workflows and processes and reduce costs.
Requirements of the Buyer:
Analytical and attention to detail
Previous buying experience, inventory, and distribution management skills
Microsoft office knowledge
Strong negotiation skills
Knowledge of metal fabrications and extrusions is desirable
