The Company

ATA Recruitment are currently working with a market leading engineering business who specialise in the design and manufacture of bespoke special purpose machinery for many different industries. They are part of a global business with sites across Europe. As they provide solutions to many industries, they are extremely stable and are as busy as ever despite the current ‘lockdown’ being in place.

Due to working with some of the UKs critical sectors, they have many projects to deliver on and are now looking for a highly experienced CNC Programmer to join their team. The role will develop into a Supervisor role where you will spend 20% of the time overseeing the activity on the shop floor.

If you are an experienced offline programmer working on multi-axis CNC machines and are looking to join an incredibly stable business that can offer progression into a supervisory role, apply now for immediate consideration! This role is classed as a ‘key worker’ therefore my client can interview immediately!

The Role

The role of CNC Programmer will involve:

  • Programming, Setting and Running a CNC Machine (Haas TM-2P CNC Mill), they will be getting a DMG Mori CMX 1100 V in April.

  • Also working on manual CNC milling and lathe (Colchester and Bridgeport) and a surface grinder.

  • Offline programming.

  • All parts are manufactured for internal projects, so they are bespoke, very low batch or one offs.

  • In the future you will begin to look after a team, distributing workload to the team – ensuring raw materials, tooling and workloads are kept under tight control

  • Day to day management of shop floor staff – managing 2 manual machinists.

  • Liaising with other department heads to update on progress, and make sure they are meeting their business needs.

  • Looking into the acquisition of new machines which could add to their capabilities

  • Attending production meetings.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for CNC Programmer you will need:

  • To be an experienced CNC Setter/Programmer/Operator with experience of multi-axis machines.

  • Offline programming experience is essential (open to all software).

  • The desire to move into a supervisory role in the future.
