The Company

With a UK turnover more than £150 million and being part of £1 Billion group, our client manufactures products used in both the construction industry and consumer markets and are a world leader in their field.

They have over 150 staff between two locations in Derbyshire and carry out operations from product manufacturing, conversion, storage, and delivery to their customers. 

The business has had a fantastic first half of 2021 with the Derbyshire sites being one of the best performing in the group.

The company are now looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer Manager who identify and implement continuous improvement projects across the two manufacturing sites.  You will be working for a company who are passionate about Continuous Improvement and can provide a large variety of continuous improvement projects to work on.

 

The Role

The Continuous Improvement Engineer will be identifying ideas or taking ideas from the business for continuous improvement projects across the two manufacturing sites.  Your role will then be to:

  • Carry out data analysis to understand the potential benefit of the improvement to the business.
  • Use lean and problem solving tools such as Value Stream Mapping, 6S, 8D, Kaizen and TPM to identify root cause problems to the areas for improvement identified.
  • Develop solutions from these root cause problems that will define the project that needs to be executed.
  • Deliver the CI project building in the measures requires to analyse performance post project.
  • Deliver any training and workshops to the business that are required as part of the project implementation before the project is completed.

 

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for this Continuous Improvement Engineer role you will need:

  • A degree level qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in a continuous improvement role in a manufacturing or engineering setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong use of lean tools such as Kaizen, 6S, 8D
  • To be able to demonstrate results you have delivered on CI projects previously.
  • A green belt level qualification in six sigma
