Engineering Manager – Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)

The Company
Our multimillion pound client specialises design and manufacture printed packaging solutions for the food industry. With six manufacturing sites across the East Midlands this company has enjoy five consecutive years of continual growth.
With yet more ambitious growth targets for this financial year the company have purchased additional land to expand their production capacity yet further. This is alongside other continuous improvement projects across their various sites.
The Role
The Engineering Manager will be responsible for two key areas within the business. Firstly it will be to oversee the various Capex and Continuous Improvement projects that are either scheduled or already running across their six manufacturing sites. This will include managing timescales, allocating engineers, arranging of external contractors and managing budgets.
Secondly, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing all maintenance functions across all sites including both reactive and planned preventative maintenance. With twelve engineers available, the maintenance function is run more like a service desk as all of the Maintenance Engineers are a floating resource across all sites. It would the Engineering Manager’s task to delegate work to each engineer depending on the nature of the fault (electrical or mechanical), urgency of problem and availability of engineers.
Being that the twelve engineers are used for both project work and maintenance tasks, it is imperative that the Engineering Manager can balance the demand of both sides of the job.
Alongside the above there would also be various responsibilities around the management of budgets, spares, external contractors and recruitment within the department.
The Candidate
To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes:
- Must have previous experience working at Engineering Manager level.
- Must have previous experience of managing a maintenance function.
- Must have previous experience managing large scale engineering projects.
