Our client, a leading manufacturer has an exciting opportunity to manage and develop the mechanical engineering function their UK manufacturing site.  They are looking for an Engineering Manager from a Mechanical background ideally medium heavy industry.

This is a huge UK company who supply products for a wide variety of customers in construction industry and business is booming. This is their flagship site in the UK and it is a great opportunity for an experienced and motivated manager to further develop and improve the department.

You will be tasked with the day-to-day operation of the engineering department within UK facilities, whilst maintaining both engineering and legislative standards. This role will appeal to an autonomous individual with a comprehensive idea of how to run a successful Engineering team within a pressurised environment.

About the Role Engineering Manager

Reporting to the Head of Engineering and leading a team of 2 mechanical Engineers and 15 Fitters, you will ensure work carried out on our mechanical equipment is delivered to a high standard and on time. You will be a supportive and inspiring people manager, capable of building strong teams and coaching to build performance. You will ensure the completion of maintenance jobs to the highest level of safety, quality and effectives at minimum cost to maximise equipment availability.

• Applying preventative and predictive maintenance practices and contribute to plant improvements

• Ensuring sustainable performance which is aligned to plant objectives, values, and behaviours

• Defining the medium- and long-term strategy for plant maintenance

What will you bring?

• Engineering qualification Mechanical

• Technical knowledge of maintenance management

• An experienced leader of teams

• Knowledge of ISO Standards and certification process

• Experience of Financial management and budget control

• Proficient in CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)

• NEBOSH or IOSH would be advantageous
