Field Service Engineer
Based in the North of England - Yorkshire / Northwest covering the UK
£38,000 + Choice of Van or Car - earnings with OT approx. £60K
Working hours 8:00am – 4:00pm anytime outside that paid at 1.5 overtime
25 days holiday
The Company:
My client is a well-established business who operate all over the globe and are the Rolls Royce of their industry. The business specialises in the manufacturing and servicing heat treatment equipment for large construction products companies in the UK and all over the world.
Due to growth in the business, they are currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to cover their customer sites in the UK.
The role would suit someone who is happy working under their own supervision, who enjoys autonomy and is looking for a role with stable and growing company, and the opportunity to earn some excellent money. Two Field Service engineers in the team earned 85K last year.

The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the planned maintenance and reactive breakdowns on Heat treatment equipment, conveyors, cooling equipment, PLCs, cameras, servo drives, ovens and much more.
The position is a mixture of electrical and mechanical work including:
- Identifying faulty electrical components such as sensors, inverters, broken cables, safety circuits.
- Checking bearings and Pneumatic components within the machines are functioning properly.
- Gearbox replacements, motor replacement, bearing replacement, pneumatics, belts
- Fault finding to input and output level PLCs all ladder logic
- Happy to stay and work away from home and work weekend most engineers work between 10- and 20-year excellent money.
The company offer a good training and induction programme where they would have you learn how to use some of the machinery before getting one on one mentoring with one of their most experienced engineers. You will have the opportunity to travel to Finland for training at global training centre
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for Field Service Engineer role you will need:
- An electrical qualification.
- To be able to carry out electrical fault finding and read electrical drawings for three phase systems.
- To be happy working as the only engineer at site.
- Happy to stay and work away from home and work weekend most engineers work between 10- and 20-year excellent money.
