Location – Covering East and West Midlands and M1 Corridor, Including:

Derbyshire, West midlands, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire

Salary – 42K + Overtime Allowance + Call out allowance + Door to Door Travel + (OTE £50K+)

Our client is one of the World’s largest manufacturers and integrators of fully automated storage and retrieve warehousing facilities. Turning over close a billion pound worldwide, the business has enjoyed double digit growth year on year for over a decade. Employing over 300 people in the UK, the business is continuing to expand thanks to the high demand for automated distribution facilities.

Supplying to a variety of industries including FMCG, Automotive, Pharmaceutical, Retail, and Utilities, they are currently expanding their Field Service Team to meet their growing customer base, as such they are looking for Field Service Engineer to cover the Midlands and South of England.

The Role

The Field Service Engineer will be attending a variety of customer’s sites for routine service work and overhauls, attending breakdowns, and assisting with installations of new equipment or upgrades. Hands on the work will be equally split between mechanical and electrical, working on a range of fully automated equipment including conveyors, shuttles, totes, pick and place robots, shunters, and racking.

As much as all their sites are fully PLC controlled, the Field Service Engineer will only be dealing with the Electrical and Mechanical hardware, with the Controls Team having responsibility for the PLC Controls and Code. However, the Field Service Engineer will need to be able to fault find through to Inputs and Outputs using a multimeter, and then be able to change any faulty components.

On average the Field Service Engineer will be required to stay away one to two days a week. All accommodation will be provided.

The Candidate

  • Must have a recognised Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Qualification
  • Must have previous experience maintaining Automated Equipment
  • Must be willing to travel and stay away when required
