Location – Worldwide (Candidate can be based anywhere in the UK)

Salary - £55k-£60k + Overtime (OTE £80k - £90k) + annual bonus £2000

The Business

Our client is one of the UKs largest manufacturers and integrators of fully automated production machinery for the Food and FMCG sector. The business specialises in the design, manufacture, installation, and commissioning of completely bespoke systems all over the world.

Established in the 1930’s, the business turnover £16 Billion annually and have recently invested £11 million in a purpose built manufacturing facility to boost their production capacity. Due to the pandemic the business has a large backlog of installation and commissioning projects to catch up on so are actively expanding their Installation and Service team.

The Role

Working as part of the Service & Installation Team, the Field Service Engineer will be responsible for the routine service, installation and commissioning of fully automated production lines for the Food, Beverage, and FCMG market. Installations can take anywhere from three to six months so the Field Service Engineer must be prepared to stay away for extended periods during.

Due to the large number of outstanding projects, the Field Service Engineer will predominantly be working on installation and commissioning projects to begin with, however in between new projects the Field Service Engineer will be required to attend different customer’s sites for Breakdowns and Routine Service and Overhauls.

Hands on the work will be a mix of electrical and mechanical tasks, working on 3 phase fully automated systems. The Field Service Engineer needs to be confident fault finding using a multimeter and reading electrical drawings.

Due to the nature of the equipment the business are looking for multiskilled candidates with a background in Food, FMCG, Packaging or high speed automated equipment, with experience around maintenance, service, installation or commissioning.

The Candidate

  • Must have a recognised Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Qualification
  • Must have experience maintaining, installing or commissioning automated equipment
  • Must be prepared to stay away for up to 3 months at a time
