ATA Recruitment are working with one of UK’s leading manufacturers of quality – engineered solutions for the metals industry. This European owned company is part of a global group with offices in UK, USA, Spain, Russia, Italy, and India.
They are currently looking for a dynamic and hungry Graduate design & project engineer to work alongside their experienced Technical Manager, with fantastic opportunities for growth and tutelage the successful candidate will have the chance to catapult themselves into the design world, additional training will also be offered at their sites in Spain and Italy so this will be a fantastic opportunity to gain cultural experience.
The Role
The GRADUATE DESIGN & PROJECT ENGINEER role will be responsible for:
- Carrying out 3D modelling and 2D detailed manufacturing drawings for components within the machines (machined components, rollers, bearings, coating heads, fabrications, bought items)
- The role will be circa 50% spent on design work. The design work could be for brand new designed machinery or modifying designs for machines that have been designed previously.
- Producing bill of materials for machines designed.
- Carrying out calculations for the speed and thrust required for the machinery to operate effectively.
- Specifying parts of the machines that need to be bought by suppliers and placing orders with them for manufacturing.
- Being involved in weekly progress meetings for projects being carried out.
- Visting workshop during machinery build to ensure the machine is being built to initial design
- Making arrangements for contractors to carry out installation of machinery at customer site.
The Candidate
The ideal GRADUATE DESIGN & PROJECT ENGINEER will have:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree 2:2 or above
- Passion for engineering
- Exposure to 3D modelling
- Exposure to 2D manufacturing drawings
- Competent in using SolidWorks or similar CAD packages
