Logistics Support Coordinator/Administrator

Huddersfield, West Yorkshire

6-month fixed term contract / Temp 2 perm

Rates: £12.82 - £14.37p/h (circa £25k pa) – PAYE temp

I am recruiting for a key client, who are a major manufacturing organisation into the chemical treatment industries. They operate a number of sites across the UK and are the market leader in their sector.

Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Logistics Support Coordinator to join their busy Supply Chain & Logistics team at their operations site. This is a very good long term career opportunity for the successful candidate, looking for a role with a company that invests in their staff and offers opportunities for progression.

The Logistics Support Coordinator will conduct the following key daily duties:

  • Support in tracking ocean-bound shipments relating to Purchase Orders, Stock Transfer Orders and Sales Orders
  • Administer document changes to expected delivery dates and communicating these to impacted internal parties – make sure nothing is missed
  • Support the Production & Logistics Planning Leader, working collaboratively with the Production team to generate a weekly production schedule
  • Coordination and administration of transport plans/schedules
  • Daily review of raw material requirements, working with planning to ensure the raw material supply security and the appropriate stock level
  • Supporting & handling transport issues / queries with the wider Supply Chain team
  • Support / cover for other members of the supply chain team
  • Update information to SAP MRP system, and other administrative duties

The successful Logistics Support Coordinator will need to have the following attributes:

  • Ideally HNC/HND/Degree qualified in Supply chain/business management related subjects etc
  • Flexible and supportive to supply chain/logistics requirements
  • Excellent I.T. systems skills / data inputting etc
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Good communication skills – especially with logistical and supply chain issues
  • Pro-active, hardworking, and enthusiastic individual
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • 1 or 2 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain or chemical manufacturing-related sectors – not essential
  • Could be suitable for a recent graduate
  • Interested in a permanent position / career progressive opportunity
