The role
As a maintenance engineer you will be working within a multiskilled maintenance team responsible for electrical and mechanical maintenance of new and existing plant equipment. You will be working on industrial laundry machinery and will need a practical understanding of PLC’s. Exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics and steam is desirable. Equipment include: conveyors, shrink-wrap sealing & oven, continuous batch washer, hydraulic presses, shuttle conveyors, gas & steam dryers, computerised mono rail bag systems, LP steam, LP air compressor, automatic feeding & folder machines, industrial roller ironers, pumps, water reclamation system, 3 phase 400V/230V single phase supply.
- Maintenance, production improvements and project work.
- Weekly PPMs the role initially will be 70% reactive 30% PPM.
- Working on new manufacturing equipment.
- You will be working on conveyers, sortation equipment, pipework, bagging lines, sortation equipment, various packaging equipment, folders, ironers and industrial steam machines.
- Faulting finding electrically and mechanically on various types of equipment onsite
- Gain exposure to various machinery and PLCs
About you
If you are a maintenance engineer who is dual skilled with a competent level of both electrical and mechanical skills and enjoy working within a proper engineering environment whilst problem solving, then this could be your next dream job. To be considered for the role you should be able to demonstrate your experience of working within a maintenance environment, working within a planned preventive nature and also the ability to react to breakdowns efficiently to ensure machine availability at all times.
Industry experience is not essential as training is at the heart of this engineer managers plans, however if you have worked in an automated environment this would be beneficial due the nature of the machines maintained. The group are also a huge advocate for Ex-forces recruitment, therefore are willing to help military engineers who are looking to kick start their career in citizen street.
- Ideally you will hold a city and guilds 17th/18th edition.
