Maintenance engineer (Electrical), circa £35000, OTE 40k+, Monday-Friday 3 shift system

About the company

We are supporting an industrial manufacturing business on their search for an electrically biased maintenance engineer to join their growing team in Nottinghamshire. Established over 100 years ago, this innovative manufacturer is a true time piece in British history, originally producing safety boxes for the British Army during world war 1. Since then, the company has developed their portfolio and now manufacture a range of products for the housing, commercial and infrastructure market. They do this as part of a larger manufacturing group who turnover £350 million per annum, with 15 manufacturing sites dotted throughout the UK, which are all specially built to house a unique, LEAN & efficient production processes specific to them. Due to their market sustaining am impressive period of growth, my client has grown as a business by £100 million over the last three years.

Growth has allowed them to acquire some of their competition and put in future plans to safeguard their business. These plans include building a brand-new supersite which will be the largest and most automated of its kind in Europe.

About the role

As a maintenance engineer you will be tasked with keeping production running efficiently and at optimum performance. You will be responsible for working from the CMMS system to complete ppm’s, process work orders and to keep breakdown time to a minimum. The day to day of the role is split between completing 90% electrical work and 10% mechanical.

Electrically you will be responsible for electrical breakdowns, ppm’s, working with 3 phase components, such as contactors, safety control relays and getting involved within electrical project work.

Further responsibilities include;

  • Electrical fault finding
  • Compliance and health and safety.
  • Critical stock control.
  • Working in conjunction with the groups LEAN and continuous improvement plans

About you

To be considered for this maintenance engineer position you must be a hard worker with a proactive mindset for completing maintenance. You should have experience working within an automated manufacturing environment and due to the nature of the site, be happy to work within an industrial environment (Loud & Dirty).

It is also important to have the following:

  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification Level 3 or above (BTEC, ONC, NVQ, HNC, HND)
  • Strong electrical fault-finding ability.
  • Experience maintaining 3 phase equipment.
