The Company

My client is a giant within their field and one of the true innovators of automated logistics and distribution. Not only do they provide world leading technology to assist in streamlining client’s distribution processes but provide on-site support to ensure excellency and efficiency is always maintained. Working across various industries including FMCG, Pharmaceutical and Energy, their business continues to go from strength to strength in a world requiring evermore quicker and convenient shopping and delivery.

With a UK team nearing 250, there are huge opportunities to progress both onsite internally and across their entire company worldwide.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for both Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive maintenance responding quickly and efficiently when issues arise. Given the fast-paced nature of the environment, it is vital to keep lines moving as effectively as possible and to repair issues with a minimum of downtime, therefore the ability to work and thrive under pressure is crucial.

Electrically the Maintenance Engineer will be fault finding with a multi-meter, replacing components (relays, contactors) predominantly like for like, fault finding to input/output level. Owing to the nature of the machinery onsite (hundreds of different style conveyors and ASRS systems) and the pace of which they function, many of the issues day to day are mechanical so a strong mechanical understanding and ability to repair gearboxes, belts and shafts is crucial.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application as a Maintenance Engineer you must have the following skills or attributes:

  • Must have electrical fault-finding experience within a maintenance role
  • Ideally from an FMCG background within any sector
  • A team player

Thanks to their tried and tested Training Program, our Client is happy to look at candidates who have a recognised Engineering Qualification and who have recently finished their Apprenticeship or who have left the Armed Forces.
