Maintenance engineer, Whittlesey, 4 on 4 off D/N rotation

£46816 + local bonus paid monthly + 10% company pension contribution + 35 days annual leave + overtime with OTE over 50K + fantastic share saver scheme

If you are a Maintenance Engineer of a mechanical bias and you are looking to work for a stable manufacturing group at an established site, then this could be the perfect role for you.

ATA are supporting a large manufacturing group at one of their flagship sites in the west Peterborough area. The fully automated site which has been standing in the heart of the community for over 40 years, are on track to have their best year to date, targeting to produce 110 million units by the end of 2021.  The company employ over 2000 staff across the country and boast a portfolio of manufactured goods second to none. These goods are some of UKs most recognisable brands of which have become a staple part of the British construction market. With a turnover eclipsing £400 million the business is going from strength to strength and are set to grow even further in 2021.

About the role

As a maintenance engineer you will be responsible for completing ppm, reacting to breakdowns and completing remedial repair work in a busy manufacturing environment. This would be on heavy and automated plant machinery, including, robotics, presses, hydraulics, rotating equipment and more.

  • The mechanical strip down and rebuild of components.
  • Mechanical fault finding.
  • Welding, machining and fabrication of components
  • Utilising the Pirannah CMMS.

The company are working towards making the site more efficient so are adopting LEAN manufacturing processes on site, therefor you will be involved project work and making production improvements to achieve TPM.

About you

You should have experience working within an automated environment ideally from manufacturing. You should possess a high level of mechanical knowledge and have previously worked as a maintenance engineer or mechanical fitter. It is important that you want to adopt a first-time fix culture and are always willing to look for ways to improve the on-site maintenance. As this site has an extremely low turnover of staff, it is important you are looking for a company where you can develop and want to stay long term.

It would also be beneficial for you to have completed a recognised apprenticeship, or you were time served.

  • Qualified level 3/or above (NVQ, C&G, HNC, HND)
