Our client is a leading manufacturer of food products who have been established for over 100 years. This family-owned business is a real success story and has multiple sites across the globe.

Their site in Leicester produces several different high-quality products and supplies into all the major multiples, their group turnover peaks at £1bn. The business has major growth plans and has recently seen a significant investment across their sites and are also looking to enhance their capacity on site with the introduction of new production lines in the coming years.

Due to their continued growth, they have been able to increase their team size within engineering which has resulted in the need for a maintenance planner to join their established team.

About the role

As a maintenance planner you will be responsible for planning and coordinating all maintenance activities within a manufacturing environment.

You will be responsible for providing a large engineering team their schedule for that day, including preventative maintenance, scheduled downtime, and project work. You will have the responsibility of writing critical breakdown, OEE, and reliability reports and then presenting this to senior management within the group.

  • Organising and managing site shutdown periods.
  • Managing critical stock control
  • Managing the work management & CMMS system.
  • Utilising engineers and resource in the most effective way.
  • Managing a centralised engineering budget.
  • Managing external contractors, checking they have the correct RAMMS, PPE, work permits and setting up SLA contracts.

About you

To be considered for this position you must have the following:

  • Experience working as a maintenance planner
  • Experience managing a CMMS system
  • Experience managing a team to complete maintenance
  • Self-starter attitude.
  • Previous experience as a hands-on engineer would be beneficial but not essential.
