Materials Planner

Burton-Upon-Trent

3 Month Contract – Up to £25 p/h + holiday pay (PAYE)

Process Equipment

Our client designs, manufactures, installs, and commissions process equipment for a wide range of industries. They are currently expanding into the pharmaceuticals market and following a recent acquisition the company have an increased financial stability than before. There is now a requirement for a Materials Planner to join the site in Burton-Upon-Trent. The Role of Materials Planner will involve the following:

-        Receive designs/materials document from design and project engineers

-        Products require purchasing include (but are not limited to):

  • Sheet metal
  • Pipework
  • Plates
  • Dished ends
  • Brackets

-        Contacting approved suppliers with the requirements

-        Get the best value, in terms of price, quality and delivery dates

-        Basic negotiation when required

-        Working on multiple projects at any one time

-        Working with the manufacturing team to ensure the material hits the shopfloor at the right time

-        Looking for opportunities to make the business more efficient – saving money and time where possible

The Materials Planner will need the following:

-    Buying/Procurement experience within a manufacturing/engineering environment

-        Great with administration, planning and liaising with stakeholders

-        Some basic negotiation skills

-        Some team leading/supporting capability
