Mechanical Service and Commissioning Engineer

£55,000-£60,000 + 9% Contributory Pension + Paid OT.

Estimated earnings including OT around £80-£90K per annum

Based anywhere in the UK, working from home, covering sites all over the world.

The Company:

A Global manufacturing business specialising in the full design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, and service of fully automated production lines sold into the FMCG sector. This business has a global portfolio of blue-chip customers and a full order book for the next 4 years already.

The machinery is state of the art, and complex, and they have a large team of specialist engineers that are the key to their success.

The Role:

Working from home but spending the majority of your time on customer sites overseas your role will be challenging and diverse:

  • Mechanical commissioning of special purpose machinery and full production lines.
  • Routine service work and emergency breakdowns out in the field
  • Work along side the electrical service and commissioning engineers
  • Training operators and site engineers as product specialist
  • Mechanical and electrical diagnosis, test and repair of complex machinery - working on conveyors, printing and packaging equipment, and specialist metal forming machinery.

Required Experience:

  • The mechanical service engineer will be an apprentice trained mechanical fitter or maintenance engineer with a minimum of NVQ level 3.
  • You could be a site based maintenance engineer looking to get out in the field, or an experienced service and commissioning engineer looking for a new challenge.
  • You must have experience within an automated manufacturing background, ideally food, bottling, dairy, special purpose machinery or packaging.
  • The equipment is set up to extremely high tolerances so attention to detail is very important
  • You must be flexible to travel and work away extensively and for extended periods.
