My client is a well-established business in the heart of Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. They have been manufacturing their bespoke products for well over 100 years and over the past two years have grown the maintenance team by over 25% due to an increase in demand. They are a global business with sites in almost 100 countries and due to this strong business getting bigger they are in need of an extra Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer. They have new state of the art kit which is fully automated along with some older kit that needs some TLC. With this no two days will be the same as the role will include breakdowns, PPM and projects.

The role

The Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for all electrical and mechanical fault finding and reactive work on production systems site wide. This will include fault diagnosis on drive systems, motors, relays, contactors and sensors. You may also be responsible for some mechanical work including replacing gearboxes, shafts, pulleys and bearings.

You will be sole on your shift so you must be confident to fault find both mechanically and electrically to keep production running through the night.

Production equipment includes silos, mixers, process plant, conveyor systems, weighing machinery, canning lines and pumps.

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities, or qualifications:

•             Must have previous experience working as an Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

•             Ideally a recognised Apprenticeship, City & Guilds Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3

Training

As part of the induction, the successful Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer would receive fantastic initial training alongside a more Senior Engineer to fully understand the processes.
