Based: Germany, Bavaria

 

Location: 75% of your time will be spent in the manufacturing plant in Bavaria Germany and 25% at the UK manufacturing facility

 

Established for over 30 years, this company is recognised as a market leader within their respective field and provide sophisticated and cutting-edge process systems for Water, Wastewater, Industrial Process, O&G, Offshore, Offshore Wind, Marine, Power Stations/Power Plants and Hydro-Processing customers.

 

As part of a group generating more than $800m annual sales, this business unit has recently transformed their organisation and are now looking for an EMEA Operations Director to manage two plants across Germany and the UK including any further acquisitions. Reporting to the Global Vice President, you will have full autonomy to drive operational improvements across the two plants from a strategic operational perspective, with a hands-on approach.

The Operations Director EMEA role will be as follows:

 

  • Provide leadership and setting strategy, KPIs, and deliverables for continuous improvement within the areas of safety, environmental, customer experience/quality, production, reliability and profitability
  • Effectively and efficiently manage two plants, one in Bavaria Germany and one in the UK across production, manufacturing, engineering, logistics, supply chain, quality, health & safety, and continuous improvement
  • Modernize and drive efficiency through manufacturing in EMEA to support double-digit output every five years
  • Deploy a robust Health & Safety improvement project across the two sites
  • Ensure a continuous and maximum Health & Safety environment with zero lost time accidents or injuries to staff members
  • Exceed customer and manufacturing expectations related to customer delivery, quality, cost, and Health & Safety
  • Exceed annual budgets and financial plans with full budget control related to labour, materials, inventory, supply chain, overheads, OpEx, CapEx and indirect manufacturing costs
  • Responsible for the financial performance of multiple plants to meet business requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, developing the annual operating plan/budgets and continuously reviewing the plan compliance concerning production, yields, and fixed costs
  • Manage all capital expenditure projects to improve the facilities ensuring an effective ROI (return on investment)
  • On-going recruitment and development programmes to support the overall growth of the EMEA business units
  • Continuously challenge the performance of the plants, operations and ways of working to ensure a consistent and evolving way of working to support the overall growth targets

 

The ideal EMEA Operations Director will have a combination of the following:

 

  • Experienced Operations Director, Manufacturing Director or General Manager type background
  • Worked in multi-site manufacturing or plant environment
  • Must be fluent in German and based in Germany but willing to travel to the UK 25% of the time
  • A suitable engineering, manufacturing or industrial qualification – degree or MBA preferred
  • Experienced in lean, continuous improvement and Health & Safety
  • Change management expert with strong leadership skills
