Role: Project Engineer
Package: £30-35K, up to 10% bonus, contributory pension scheme.
Location: Nottingham
The Company:
My client is a leading manufacturer of bespoke specialist goods, services and systems largely within the FMCG market. As a relatively young business it has grown year-on-year and the immediate forecast is to break the £20 million mark. The business maintains the same tightknit culture of twenty years ago; with 70 members of staff and a very hands-on Managing Director who knows everybody by name.
The Role:
The Project Engineer will be responsible for the running projects from sales order to installation. You will running typically half a dozen projects at a time ranging from 20K to 150K in value.
Main responsibilities are:
- Managing the full lifecycle project.
- Ordering all of the mechanical and electrical components required for projects.
- Identifying at all stages of the project whether it is on time and to budget.
- Constant communication with the supplier and client.
- Negotiating prices with supplier to ensure project is delivered to budget.
- Communication with the in-house design team to ensure completion of drawings in time for assembly.
- Arranging shipment of goods to customer.
- Ensuring the client is ready for installation.
The Person:
The successful Project Engineer will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a project related role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
- Strong negotiating skills.
