The Company
Our client specialises in the manufacturing of a variety of products for the global Automotive market. They are looking to recruit a senior production planner to work in their automated production facility in Coventry to create and maintain a production schedule that is efficient, minimizes cycle times, and effectively controls inventory. Due to regular expansion 5millions worth of expansion in the last year, there are many opportunities for progression for the right candidate and lots of opportunity for training.
Key Objectives Senior Production Planner:
Create and maintain a production schedule that is efficient, minimizes cycle times, and effectively controls inventory. This position will analyze production history and current customer demand, using data to create the most accurate plan to be used within SAP. Plan, prepare, maintain, and report on performance of the master production schedule (MPS)

Maintains strong relationships both internally and externally to ensure supply of materials meets requirements.
Work under general supervision, reviewed by Management. Decisions and results have an impact on the function and their success. Performance affects the function's image.
Identify and manage bottlenecks and capacity opportunities, co-ordination internally and externally, supporting customers
Establish and maintain production scheduling processes and formal master production schedule review and signoff.
Development, maintain and communication of key performance indicators (KPIs) that are consistent with business strategies and plant-level performance measures.
Mentor Material Planners on production planning process, inventory planning, and scheduling.
Skills and Key Experiences - Senior Production Planner:
• Good communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
• Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the costs, production, manufacture, and customer order fulfilment
• Results orientated and organised with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines
• Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
• Excellent knowledge of material planning processes within SAP.
• Excellent attention to detail skills
