Our client has been growing yearly and looking to expand by hiring a further 5 engineers around the Midlands. This is thanks to an internal promotion to a Commissioning Engineer, plus additional engineers to cope with an increased workload across the service department.

The Role

The Commissioning Engineer will be required to go out to site and commission new machinery primarily, but also carrying out some upgrade and service work across the UK. Following the upgrade or service work, the engineer will also be required in some instances to train operators after the machine is set up.

However, as the commissioning engineer you will be required to handle a small degree of mechanical work such as working with hydraulics and pneumatics. Alongside the electrical and mechanical work, you will be required to make modifications to PLC software so that the machinery can continue the automated process.

The role is UK wide, therefore there is a degree of overnight staying required as part of the role. Usually, you can be away for 1-2 weeks at a time, however this can be longer depending on the job and location, but this will never be more than a month.
