The Client
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for one of the UK's leading food manufacturers. A true market leader within their field, they provide the highest quality products to all the major supermarkets supplying own label.
This company is a highly successful business with a group turnover over £1billion. As a company, they have experienced huge organic growth but have also acquired other brands over the years. At present, the business is looking to improve and upscale its factories, sites and processes and due to this, require an Engineering Project Manager to lead and support both small and largescale CAPEX and infrastructure projects across their London based sites.
The Role
As the Engineering Project Manager, the primary focus of the role will be to manage all projects across 3 sites, from cradle to grave.
Responsibilities will include:
- Management of multiple projects at any one time – full responsibility end-to-end – projected spend of £45m over the next 5 years
- CAPEX control
- Building and presenting business cases for presentations
- Writing project plans
- Projects to include facilities – locker rooms, toilets, offices, loading doors, security offices, canteen
- Factory – high risk and low risk areas, boxing equipment, frying capacity, huge cooking investment
- Managing full installation and commissioning of all food equipment
- Creating a network of contractors
- Ensuring all H&S on site is adhered to; risk assessment, relevant insurances, full contractor control
- Constant communication with stakeholders; Technical, Production, Operations, Engineering, H&S
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time and in budget
The Candidate
As this is a standalone role, the successful Project Engineering Manager must have strong experience of managing contractors and building a network of reliable/hard-working multi-skilled teams.
The successful Project Engineering Manager will have:
- Project management experience – within a food or food adjacent environment
- Engineering qualification – Apprenticeship/C&G/NVQ
- NEBOSH General or Diploma
- Must have tangible track record of successfully managing full project lifecycle within a food/food adjacent environment
- Cost and contractor control
