They are a large Global business based in Birmingham who have been established for over 50 years. Our client supplies various aerospace products to some of the largest OEMs and governments in the world. They are looking for a team player who enjoys the culture of being in a large business function and someone who wants to bring positive energy to the table. Our client is a leading supplier with a portfolio of key projects and a strong order book moving forward. The role is an integral part of the Senior Management team The Operations Manager Role Reporting to the Manufacturing Director you will have responsibility for managing the day-to-day Safety, Quality, Throughput and Cost for their department. In conjunction with the Manufacturing Director, the position is responsible for maximising individual and plant-wide productivity, quality and technical skill development to ensure on-time shipments and customer satisfaction, as well as reducing variable costs The focus of the role will be to execute the daily, weekly plans for the Business Unit, managing the manpower and other resources to carry them out in an efficient and productive manner. This is a pro-active as well as a reactive role. As the operations manager your responsible for reviewing and planning for daily, weekly, and quarterly labour, equipment, tooling and supply requirements to achieve business unit throughput while meeting and exceeding productivity targets. You will be leading and managing 50 plus Direct/indirect employees comprising of 4 x Production Managers, and Indirect operators. Key duties will include: • Managing day to day throughput to agreed levels • Coaching and developing production manager capability • Driving continuous improvement in area • Set-up of daily standard meetings to manage performance and exceptions • 6S standards set-up in area to maximise efficiency • Working alongside Engineering to ensure all issues/planned maintenance is completed in timely manner • Developing operators to multi skill and gain flexibility across multiple assets The Candidate Operations Manager Experience managing medium to large teams Experience working in an manufacturing environment. Exposure to a union environment would be advantageous. Experience and examples of motivate and develop teams to meet performance requirements Knowledge of ISO9001 The Benefits Salary – £70000 - 75000 Our client currently has bonus scheme paying out every quarter.
