The role involves overseeing the commissioning, testing, and validation of automated systems in line with the "as sold" requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting on-site testing, ensuring system performance aligns with customer needs, and securing final approval. Post-commissioning, you will also be required to perform final system testing. Key Responsibilities: Testing & Validation: Develop and execute test plans (e.g., Site Acceptance Tests, Performance Tests) to ensure systems meet specifications, customer needs, and safety standards. Issue Management: Track, resolve, and re-test issues using tools like Jira. Confirm defect fixes and manage testing timelines. Volume Testing: Perform stress testing to identify system bottlenecks and validate overall system performance. Coordination & Reporting: Provide updates to the Lead SIM and Project Manager. Supply data for reports and dashboards. Client Engagement: Act as the primary contact for customer testing requirements, fostering strong communication and relationships. Software Oversight: Oversee WCS and PLC testing during the automation process, ensuring system messaging and communication are aligned. Skills & Experience Required: Strong expertise in automation systems (e.g., conveyors, cranes, TMS, shuttles). Proficiency with PLC, SCADA, and system messaging validation. Solid electrical and mechanical system knowledge (qualifications advantageous). Proven experience in commissioning and testing automation or material handling systems. Ability to perform volume/stress testing and identify system issues. Experience with WCS/WMS, including data analysis (e.g., SAP WMS). Previous experience as a Test Manager or Commissioning Engineer in automation/material handling. Proficiency in Excel for data verification and reporting. They are now looking to hire a Temporary Quality Inspector for an immediate start. The Temporary Quality Inspector will be responsible for the following: Ensure that all materials are quality inspected, appropriately dispositioned, and released for kitting in a timely manner. Support the successful execution of workloads, tasks, and projects by maintaining accurate control over material handling, product storage, and the transportation of goods across the business, the local supply chain, and client sites. Actively participate in the daily meetings to agree priorities and tasks. Carry out visual and dimensional inspections of manufacturing and engineering materials to ensure they are correct to specification, tolerances, and drawings Ensure traceability of materials and components (heat, cast number, batch number match) Material Certification compliance and processing to support document packs Quarantine of non-conforming materials Manual handling compliance for employees Ensure that all movements of products and materials are carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures. You will need to be proactive and be able to identify any issues with the materials and plan in any required checks The Temporary Quality Inspector must possess the following skills to be considered for this role: A background in Machining or Fabrication with in-process inspection capabilities. Experience of in-bound materials inspection within an engineering or manufacturing environment. The use of ERP systems (SAP desired). A good understanding of Microsoft Office.
