Role – Field Service Engineer
Location – Based Yorkshire or Lancashire (Covering UK Wide)
Salary - £33,000 per annum, plus car, fuel card, tools, expenses, full product training
Overtime – Overtime available at weekends, paid at x2.0 equivalent hourly rate
Our client is one of the UK’s largest designers and manufacturers of Printing and Labelling systems for the Food and FMCG sectors. The business has achieved on average 8% - 10% year on year growth over the last decade and have been steadily expanding their Service Team as a result of their increasing customer base.
With 12 Field Service Engineers spread out across England, they are now looking to add in three additional Field based Engineers, plus 3 additional Tech Support Engineers.
The Field Service Engineer will be home based and will attending Customer’s sites for new installations, breakdowns or Planned Services. With the Field Service Team spread out equally across the country, the business try and keep Engineers as local as possible to allow them to get to customer’s site quickly, however there would be situations where the Field Service Engineers will need to travel further afield if other more local Engineers are not available.
Hands on, most of the work is Electrical in nature. The systems run off 230v supply but are mostly 24v DC in terms of components. The Field Service Engineer will need to be able to fault find with a multimeter and read electrical drawings, then change any faulty or worn components. Mechanically, the Field Service Engineer will need to be able to use hand tools and drills, and change out any mechanical components like belts, pulleys, sprockets, and motors.
To be considered for this position you must have:
- A recognised Electrical Qualification
- Experience servicing or maintaining industrial, automated, or manufacturing equipment
- The ability to fault find with a multimeter and read electrical drawings
- Be willing to travel
- Have excellent customer facing abilities
The business has an excellent training program for all new employees which includes two weeks of hand on product training at their Repair Centre, plus a further month shadowing one of their Senior Engineers out on the road. They will also pay for candidates to complete their 18th Edition if they do not already have one.
