The Business

Our client specialises in the supply of chemical treatment systems used in the timber industry. Their systems range from simple spraying and dosing systems right up to large capacity high pressure resin vessels.

As well as the machinery, the business also produces a range of wood preservative chemicals available to the general consumer as found in B&Q or Homebase. Established over 100 years ago, the business is still experiencing a good period of growth and now require an addition Service Engineer to cover the South East of England and East Anglia.

The Role

The day to day of the role is a mix of routine service work and attending breakdowns on their customer’s sites. 95% of the hands on work will be mechanical in nature, working on various pipe and pump systems, autoclaves, pressure vessels, chemical dosing units, sprayers and soak tanks.

Mechanically the Service Engineer must be confident working with pumping and dosing systems, as well as hydraulic systems. There will also be the requirement to be able to weld and pipe fit. Electrically the Service Engineer will need to be able to do basic fault finding in panels, change sensors and switches like for like, and safely isolate.

The client is particularly keen to speak to anyone with a background with process plant, water, food and beverage, or chemical industries. Similarly, they are also interested in speaking with Engineers who have recently left the Armed Forces.

The Candidate

The client is looking for candidates with the following:

  • Recognised Mechanical Engineer Qualification.
  • Experience working on, maintaining, and repairing Pump and Pipework.
  • Experience working on Hydraulics.
