A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Health and Safety Advisor to work for a leading FMCG Manufacturing business supplying into some of the UK’s and EU biggest retailers.

The business are very cash rich and now on a journey to modernise their maintenance function. They are looking for someone to help drive the improve of the site. The company are very successful in their market, offering excellent employee benefits, fantastic training, and a great culture to work within.

My client are recruiting for a health and safety conscious person or someone who is looking to build a career within in this role to play a key safety role in the day to day operations at their St Helens site.

Your responsibility is to work closely with the UK Health and Safety Manager to help develop the site's strategy for the next 2-5 year plan across both sites in St Helens and Wakefield, Feathersone.

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have the following duties & responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and expertise to the business and department heads, including the engineering team on Health and Safety issues
  • Plan, execute, and report on internal Health and Safety audits for both sites
  • Leading training sessions, conducting monthly reviews, and maintaining up-to-date Risk Assessment matrices.
  • Conducting audits to ensure compliance with our systems and applicable legislation.
  • Managing management systems to maintain site certification against relevant standards and legal requirements.
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in HSE standards.
  • Working closely with site teams to provide coaching and drive effective problem resolution.

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have the following attributes:

  • NEBOSH certificate or working towards NEBOSH Diploma.
  • HSE background with an awareness of relevant management systems (ISO14001, 45001, BRC) and their implementation.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint Literate
  • Excellent coaching and team working skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize your work and meet deadlines.
  • Valid UK drivers License
