Maintenance engineer, £45450, 4 on 4 off (Days and nights) Leicester/Derbyshire border, 10% pension, generous holiday allowance, real career progression.

The company

ATA are supporting a national engineering business on the search for their next electrical maintenance engineer for their site in the East Midlands. The company who turn over north of 400 million, have multiple manufacturing sites dotted throughout the UK which are all specially purpose built to house an efficient and LEAN manufacturing process. Due to their market sustaining am impressive period of growth, my client has grown as a business by £100 million over the last three years.

Growth has allowed them to acquire some of their competition and put in future plans to safeguard their business. These plans include building a brand-new supersite which will be the largest and most automated of its kind in Europe.

ATA has worked with the company for over 5 years and have placed over 50 engineers within the business. Engineers we have placed have commented on how well run the engineering function is within the company and how supportive the senior management team is.

About the role

As a maintenance engineer you will be responsible for providing breakdown cover and completing planned preventive maintenance on a busy production site. You will be responsible for maintaining plant machinery including belt conveyors, roller conveyors, robotics, shrink wrapping machinery, mixers, stack conveyors, plus more.

You will have the responsibility of keeping breakdown time to a minimum, improving machine efficiency and working in conjunction with the groups LEAN and continuous improvement plans.

Further responsibilities include;

  • Electrical fault finding
  • Electrical installation & project work.
  • Compliance and health and safety.
  • Critical stock control.

About you

As a maintenance engineer should have the following:

  • Electrical qualification, city and guilds or above.
  • Previous experience working within manufacturing (Desirable, not essential).
  • A methodical mind set, with the ability to problem solve and adapt with short notice.
  • The ability to work within a proactive nature.
  • Have a passion for engineering,
