The Company
Our client is an engineering firm who specialise in the design and manufacturing of tooling equipment used within the Automotive industry by the likes of Aston Martin, BMW and Tesla.
Their products are used within the Automotive industry to support in the manufacture, assembly and calibration of components and products created by their clients.
The client is a single site, small to medium sized business employing roughly 30 members of staff companywide and have seen growth in turnover from £1.6 Million last year to around £2.5 Million for 2024.
After seeing considerable growth over the past 9 years, the company has planned to increase headcount this year by another 4 employees across the engineering department, one of those roles being for another Mechanical Design Engineer to support the current team, which they are recruiting for with immediate effect.
The Role
The role of Design Engineer will involve:
- The Design of Special Purpose Machinery
- Creation and design of fixtures, fittings and Jigs
- Reviewing and improving current designs
- Producing both 2D and 3D CAD drawings – using software such as Autodesk Inventor
- Liaising with the inhouse production and assembly teams
- Meeting with Clients in order to understand their unique requirements.
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Design engineer role you will need:
- To be familiar with using Autodesk Inventor
- Industry relevant experience within a design role
- The ability to apply your knowledge to a wide variety of projects.
- The confidence to attend client meetings and present your ideas.
- To be open and willing to get hand on and support the production team with brining your designs to life!
- A degree level of education would be advantageous, but not essential.
