Location: Nottingham
A Senior Commissioning Engineer is urgently required to work for a globally renowned business with roots tracing back over 100 years, and a turnover of €4 Billion. As a group, they deal in many different markets, providing technical solutions to various well-known clients.
This business is going through a time of growth, with some exciting projects on the horizon and require a Senior Commissioning Engineer to join their skilled, dedicated team.
The Role
The successful Senior Commissioning Engineer is hybrid, with 50% time spent on client sites and the rest split between the company site and home
Responsibilities will include:
- Pulling together installation quotes required for the sales team including; electrical installation, mechanical installation and mobile plant hire
- Carrying out site surveys ahead of installation and commissioning to determine; what access is needed, generating RAMs and Method statements required
- Putting together the commissioning plan for the site
- Overseeing installation teams at site; pipework installation and electrical sub-contractors
- Ensuring contractors have the right tickets for site work
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times during installation
- Liaising with on-site customer for progress reports on installation and commissioning
- Producing weekly reports on site progress
- Once the equipment is installed the Senior Commissioning Engineer physically checks that equipment works and is installed to correct layout/plan before carrying out I/O checking, making sure the drives are working and the motors turn properly.
- Carrying out performance tests on the equipment to make sure it works effectively before customer sign off
- Carrying out any necessary fault finding and problem-solving during commissioning and feeding back software issues to relevant sub-contractors/PLC providers
The Candidate
The successful Senior Commissioning Engineer will:
- Have a relevant qualification (Apprenticeship/C&G/HNC and above)
- Experience electrical/mechanical/PLC fault finding
- Previous experience working within a commissioning role
- Ideally experience with some form of automated production/process equipment
- Flexibility to travel and stay away during the week – UK wide
- Comfortable in a client facing role
- Professional approach with attention to detail
- Exposure to CDM regs would be highly beneficial
