ATA Recruitment are delighted to announce that we are sponsoring the East Goscote United Girls and Women Football Club this season with our chosen charity, Rainbows.
About East Goscote United Girls and Women Football Club
We are sponsoring East Goscote United FC U’11 Panthers, who play in the Leicestershire girls league. They are a mixed ability team with a number of players who are brand new to football, so their focus is to develop their technique whilst making sure they enjoy playing and stay in the sport.
A historic year for women’s football
2021 is a historic year for women’s football. In 1921, the FA chose to ban women’s football from its clubs’ stadiums, claiming ‘the game of football is quite unsuitable for females and should not be encouraged.’ The ban was thankfully overturned in 1971, making 2021 a century on from the initial ban and marking 50 years since that ban was overturned. With its popularity increasing year on year, we want to help the industry encourage more females into the sport and create a more inclusive environment for all. As such, this sponsorship aligns perfectly with our Being Social Responsible strategy.
It is great that we are able to support our chosen charity, Rainbows, whilst also making a positive impact to our community. We are very excited to be part of the girls football journey and wish them every success in their fixtures.
Who are Rainbows?
Right from the start of 2021, ATA has worked in collaboration with our chosen charity partner, Rainbows. Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People provides specialist respite, palliative and end of life care to children and young people with life limiting or life-threatening conditions and support to their families and friends.
