Assembly Fitter – Aircraft structures
Blackburn area
Circa £18.00p/h - £20.00p/h DOE + hol pay (Umbrella – inside IR35)
3-month initial contract
I am working with a key client in the Blackburn area who are looking for Skilled Aircraft Fitters, to work on the build of composite and aluminium structural assemblies for the aerospace sector.
*** We have several positions available for an immediate start ***
As an Assembly Fitter, you will require to conduct the following duties:
v Ability to read complex engineering drawings to tight tolerances
v Use hand tools, setting up bench jigs, all nice and tidy
v Assemble, fit all aspects mechanically, structure & body etc
v Working with composite material and aluminium
v Work to production plans and timescales
The Assembly Fitter will need to have the following attributes:
v Engineering time served ideally or min. NVQ L2 in fitting and/or light fabrication/sheet metal
v Good workshop body/structure fitting experience
v Aerospace industry experience – ability to read/interpret aerospace drawings
v A strong team player
v Experience within a high precision manufacturing environment with composite materials experience ideally
v Strong communication skills, with a keen eye for Health, Safety and Quality
v Ideally have your own tools including drills, rivet guns and countersinks
The benefits of this position:
v 3-month contract with likelihood of extension

v A four-day working week - Monday to Thursday 39hrs p/w (30 mins unpaid lunch), plus OT & Fridays/Saturdays at T½, and Sundays T2 etc.
