With a UK turnover more than £100 million and being part of £1 Billion group, our client manufactures products used in both the construction industry and consumer markets and are a world leader in their field.
Their Stoke site employs over 100 staff between two locations and carry out operations from product manufacturing, conversion, storage, and delivery to their customers.
The company are looking for a Chemical Process Improvement Engineer to come in and focus on process improvements based around the chemical processing line.
The Role
The Chemical Process Improvement Engineer is focussed on optimising the processes in place at site for existing products being manufactures and for new products being introduced into production. Your key focuses will be:
Process Engineering
- Reviewing non optimal processes for existing products to analyse if the issue is to do with the chemical process (temperature, pressure, catalyst), nonadherence to SOPs equipment setup/performance
- Putting corrective measures in place to improve the process in future
Process development when new trials are introduced:
- Carrying out trials of the new processes for new products
- Reviewing the quality of material produced and problem-solving issues with the process
- Carrying out pre-production trials and scaling up to full manufacture
- Training operators to ensure manuals are in place
- Ensure SOP’s written for the new process for the operations team.
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Chemical Process Improvement Engineer role you will need:
- Chemistry or Chemical Engineering Degree
- Background within a Process Engineer/Improvement role within manufacturing
