Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Shifts: 4 on 4 off days and nights
The Company
The company that is looking for an electrical maintenance engineer is a global building and construction products manufacturer whose parent company is based in the US. They turnover 400 million pounds annually with a 20% net margin and have roughly 35% of the market share in the UK.
They have numerous UK sites and produce a broad range of building materials although their site near Newark is limited to 2 product ranges but is the companies most profitable and productive production facility in the UK with targets, they are hitting of 90 million units per annum.
This site is recent acquisition for the group with advanced and automated machinery including but not limited to box feed conveyors, kiln cars, bogeys, kilns, drying ovens, de-hackers, pick and place robotics, strappers, and belt conveyors.
The Role
The role of the electrical maintenance engineer will be centred around the facilities planned preventative maintenance programme being followed and include inspecting wires and machinery and looking through PLC’s.
The role will include a limited amount of reactive maintenance, but the site is very efficient with only 2% of breakdowns per annum.
The role will include attending breakdowns and fault finding, maintenance on planned work – swap, rebuild and repair of photocells, proximity switches, relays, inverters, contactors, PILZ units, fans, limit switches, light curtains, 3 phase motors, brake motors, servos, solenoids, lighting, LEDs, thermocouples, flow meters, heat probe, and star delta.
There will also be some PLC exposure with Siemens S7 on site.
There will be some limited project and upgrade work available.
Shifts
The electrical maintenance engineer’s shifts will be 4 on 4 off days and nights.
The Person.
The perfect candidate for the electrical maintenance engineer’s role will be:
NVQ Level 3 or above, city and guilds, ONC, HNC, HND (essential)
Be electrically biased (essential)
Have PLC’s experience preferably Siemans but Allen Bradley is transferable.
Strong electrical knowledge and proven skill set.
Ability to fault find within electrical panels
Experience with electrical drawings and using them as a tool for maintenance.
Be open to continuous development
Work hard working as part of a strong team
Have experience with motors, drives, star delta and inverters.
Strong fault finding ability (essential)

Salary: 43,300 per annum
Over time paid and time and a half and double time on a Sunday
Average earning potential of around £46,000
29 days holiday plus some site shut down days
Very generous 10% employer contribution to pension.
