My client is a multi-sited company operating across 30 sites and employing over 2,000 staff in the UK. Established over 50 years ago, with a multi-million-pound turnover business, our client continues to grow from strength to strength using the latest technology while also minimising its impact on the environment.
Their site in Birmingham is renowned for their quality and customer service, offering their clients, who are some of the world’s leading brands.
This site employs over 130 staff and are looking to employee an Energy Manager to manage the team through their team through exciting, planned projects and change over the next 12 months. You will be working with a fantastic and highly skilled team who continuously strive to improve the site.
Position Overview:
As an Energy Manager, you will oversee and drive the efficiency of the power and steam systems. You will lead efforts in energy consumption reduction, sustainable energy generation, and compliance with ISO 50001, CAA, and UKETS standards. Your technical expertise, leadership skills, and meticulous approach to budgeting will help them achieve their environmental and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies to optimize power and steam systems for peak efficiency.
- Lead initiatives to reduce energy consumption and drive sustainable energy generation.
- Ensure strict compliance with ISO 50001, CAA, and UKETS standards, gathering all necessary data and overseeing documentation.
- Manage a dedicated team, providing mentorship, guidance, and fostering a culture of innovation.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement energy-efficient practices and achieve targets.
- Assume responsibility for budget control, resource allocation, and cost-effective energy solutions.
- Conduct thorough energy audits and assessments, translating findings into actionable recommendations.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications and experience:
- Experience in energy management, preferably with a focus on power and steam systems.
- BOAS (Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme) management level qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in meeting ISO 50001, CAA, and UKETS standards.
- Proven track record in managing teams, with exceptional leadership and communication skills.
- Strong analytical acumen, able to gather, interpret, and utilize energy data effectively.
- Proficiency in budget management and resource allocation.
