  • Office based once or twice per week – the rest will be spent working from home or at customer sites

With its history dating back over 50 years, this business has solid foundations and continues to go from strength to strength having increased its annual sales by a staggering £8m over the last 12 months.

As a result of recent growth and success, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Facilities Management Estimator to join the team and to play an instrumental part in the business achieving +£22m sales in the next 3 years.

The role of the Estimator will be as follows:

 

 

  • The FM Hard Services Estimator will be responsible for building and costing new tender bids – values ranging between £500,000 - £5m each
  • To prepare a detailed commercial proposal for new and existing business development opportunities based on engineering estimates
  • To assist in prequalifying and the formulation of bid submissions in response to RFI/RFQ’s from customers
  • Review the SFG20 which is the standard maintenance specification for building engineering services
  • As the Estimator, you will conduct a site survey at the client’s site to get a detailed understanding of what hard FM services are required
  • Create detailed commercial proposal using the cost data from engineering estimates for new business opportunities and developments
  • Prepare and assist in the commercial, pricing and cost elements of bid submission documents that will be produced in response to formal RFI/RFQ requests from customers
  • Assist with commercial and pricing elements of presentations and other means of communication to customers on new business opportunities
  • Liaise with electrical and mechanical equipment suppliers  and subcontractors to formulate the BOM (Bill of Material) and estimate
  • You will review all commercial estimates with the senior leadership team and maximise margins
  • Create estimates using in-house software tools, Microsoft Excel and using specialist tools for costing models
  • Liaise effectively with other internal departments to ensure a coordinated approach to business development opportunities

 

To be successful for the Estimators role you will need:

 

  • An experienced Estimator with a background in hard facilities management – mechanical and electrical
  • A proven track record in hard FM estimating and familiar with SFG20 standards
  • Ideally, a suitable qualification although experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, Word and PowerPoint
  • Expert in Excel and cost analysis as well as creating cost models
  • Bid preparation and cost analysis expertise with strong numeracy skills
  • Based anywhere central England
