Field Service Engineer.

Location: Based in the South Yorkshire & East Midlands region working from home.

Salary: £28,000-£31,000 +£3K bonus + 4k OT + Company Van.

Shifts: Monday to Friday- Day’s role.

The Company.

The client I am working with that is looking for a field service engineer who will be based from home and whose patch will include the South Yorkshire and Midlands region of the UK.

The company that turnover £12 million per annum and were established nearly 150 years ago and are the global market leader in the design, manufacture, and service of incinerators for a variety of industries.

The Role.

The role of the field service engineer will be based from home covering the South Yorkshire and Midlands region. The expectation is you will be home every evening and work Monday to Friday although overtime is available.

The role will be predominantly involve planned maintenance of equipment and will normally include one to two calls per day of three to four hours at each call out.

The role will involve changing parts of the equipment, checking emissions and writing reports.

There will be an element of breakdown support, but this will only be around 20% of the role.

The role is mainly based in mechanical engineering and will involve working on conveyors, pipework, pneumatics, and compressors. The smaller element of electrical engineering will involve working on 3 phase motors, instrumentation, and basic PLC work.

The role is customer facing and you will be expected to get know them really well and build and develop relationships with them.  

The Person.

The right person to fill the service engineer’s role will be:

NVQ level 3 or equivalent trained.

Be mechanically biased ideal 80% to 20% electrical.

The role would suit a mechanical maintenance engineer working in a factory looking to move to a field-based role.

Worked on industrial machinery.

The client has successfully recruited several engineers from the Navy into similar roles and would welcome applications from multi-skilled engineers who have worked on submarines or ships.

Shifts.

The field service engineers role will be a day’s role Monday to Friday with the opportunity for overtime.
