Principal Design Engineer – West Yorkshire
3-6-month contract / Outside IR35
Rate £40.00 - £45.00p/h
CAD – Autodesk Inventor / Vault / design / mechanical automation packages
I am currently recruiting on behalf of a key client based in Yorkshire, who are a global leading automation machinery manufacturer. They operate in the design, manufacture and installation of special purpose automated machinery into fast paced FMCG, medical and pharmaceutical industries. Due to continued growth and investment, they are looking for experienced Principal Design Engineer to join their team on an interim basis. Initially this contract/project is for 3-6 months.
For this position, you will require to conduct the following daily duties:
v 3D design and modelling on Autodesk Inventor utilising Vault
v Design and model mechanical assemblies, in a highly technical engineering and automation equipment environment
v Ensuring design project specifications are met, and ensuring other design engineers within the business are correctly designing to meet key milestones
v Communicate effectively with key stakeholders on the design project including electrical and software teams
v Highlight and design issues or snagging issues immediately to Lead Engineer
The successful person will need to have the following attributes:
v Knowledge sheet metal, complex assemblies, and complex general arrangements etc
v Strong mechanical and complex machinery engineering background - able to come up with ideas and engineering solutions to problems
v 3DCAD – Autodesk Inventor & Vault highly desirable
v Excellent communications skills with both colleagues and clients
v A team player, professional and keen eye for detail
