We are currently recruiting for the UK’s largest and fasted growing food manufacturing businesses, who are looking for over 20 Engineers to join their brand new fully automated manufacturing site in Leicester.
Thanks to their tried and tested induction and training process, they are in a unique position to employ Engineers from outside of the usual channels of Manufacturing. So far, just in the last year, they have hired nearly 20 Engineers none of which had a background in Automation.
The average Salary for a Maintenance Engineer within Automated manufacture is over £45,000, with overtime earning pushing that to closer to the £50,000 mark, which is easily achievable after just 5 years.
So have recently left the Armed Forces and have an Engineering Qualification, and would love a career within Automation, we want to hear from you!
The Role
As a Maintenance Technician, you would be part of 50 strong team of Engineers, forming the first line of defence for any breakdowns that occur on your shift. With the plant handling on average thousands of units per day speed and accuracy is paramount as just 1 minute is 140 orders that haven’t been processed.
Equipment includes fully automated equipment, conveyors, mixers, ovens, slicers and palletisers. The vast majority of the breakdowns would be electrical in nature, with most of the mechanical faults being linked to damaged bearings and belts, which can be changed like for like.

Am I Right?
To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:
- Must have previous experience fixing some form of Electrical or Mechanical system.
- No specific Engineering Qualifications are necessary, but any City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC or better would be advantageous.
Package
Salary - £25k to £35k depending on experience.
Overtime – x1.5 of your equivalent hourly rate
