A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join a global engineering manufactureroperating within the aerospace and defence supply chain. With over 400 employees on site, the business runs a highly technical, heavy-industry environment with, large hydraulic presses, and CNC facilities.

The Role – Maintenance Engineer

You will play a key role in ensuring reliability across a wide variety of heavy industrial equipment. This is a mechanically biased role working on high-value plant within a challenging but rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on heavy manufacturing equipment.
  • Fault find mechanically on, hydraulic presses
  • Work with hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, and gearboxes.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic and engineering drawings.
  • Support long-term PPM and reliability improvement projects.
  • Replace and repair mechanical components to ensure safe operation.

About You

Essentials:

  • Time-served Apprenticeship with Level 3 Mechanical Qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in medium to heavy manufacturing environments (e.g., foundry, steel, aerospace, automotive, chemical, brick).
  • Strong fault-finding skills with hydraulics, pneumatics, and gearboxes.
  • Comfortable working in a heavy-industry environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic drawings.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in aerospace, metals, foundry, or forging environments.
  • Proactive approach to continuous improvement and maintenance practices.
  • Ambition to progress into supervisory roles in the future.
