We’re working with a global engineering business that designs, builds, and maintains high-end automated systems for major UK clients. They’re looking to expand their resident engineering team at a fully automated site in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting a 24/7 logistics operation that runs some of the most advanced equipment in the sector.

What’s on offer:
Location: Stoke-on-Trent (ST3) – fully automated logistics & distribution site
Salary: £45,444 base + £5,000 shift allowance = £50,444 total
Shifts: Monday–Friday rotating double days (6–2 / 2–10 / 10–6 incl. Sat AM finish)
⚙️ Overtime: 1.5x Saturdays | 2x Sundays | double time after 10PM
Holidays: 25 days + bank holidays

Progression: Clear paths into Senior Engineer, Shift Lead, or Automation Specialist positions

The Role:
Join a dedicated on-site maintenance team supporting a high-speed automated system used for nationwide distribution.
The equipment includes stacker cranes, conveyors, palletisers, A-frames, robotics, and wrapping systems — all integrated with Siemens S7 controls.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering a 60/40 split of planned and reactive maintenance
  • Electrical fault-finding on sensors, relays, contactors, and inverters
  • Mechanical repairs on bearings, rollers, shafts, and pneumatics
  • I/O checking on Siemens PLCs (no programming required)
  • Supporting continuous improvement and ensuring safe working at height (up to 10m)

  • Multi-skilled engineer with Level 3 qualification or higher
