We’re working with a global engineering manufacturer supplying major automotive brands across the UK and Europe. Following major investment in automation, robotics, and CNC technology, they’re looking to expand their maintenance team at their Wednesbury site.

Location: Wednesbury – easily commutable from Walsall, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich & Dudley
Salary: £54,000 (Nights) + overtime
Shifts: Permanent Nights
Holidays: 27 days + bank holidays
Pension: 6% employee contribution
Training: Siemens PLCs, CNC machinery, robotics, FLT, and HNC progression
Progression: Clear routes into specialist or leadership roles within a global group

The Role:
You’ll play a key part in ensuring the reliability and performance of a modern, automated production environment — maintaining high-speed CNC and robotic equipment used in automotive manufacturing.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining CNC machines, ABB robots, conveyors, and special-purpose equipment
  • Electrical fault-finding on 3-phase motors, sensors, relays, and drives
  • Mechanical work on pneumatics, hydraulics, spindles, ball screws & tool changers
  • Working with Siemens S7 PLCs (training provided)
  • Supporting continuous improvement and recording maintenance via IT systems

Who fits well:

  • Time-served or Level 3 qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or production environments
  • Confident fault-finding electrically and mechanically
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and component replacement
  • Background in CNC or robotics maintenance is an advantage
