Job Title – Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical)
Location – Alfreton
Salary - £30,000 to £35,000 per Annum (Overtime x1.5 & x2.0)
Hour of Work – Monday to Friday (8am – 4:30pm)
Our client is one the UK’s largest manufacturers of foam products, supplying to the Automotive Aerospace and FMCG markets. With sites across the UK, the business are enjoying a steady, continued period of growth and are recruiting heavily across their various sites to help meet the growing demand for their products.
Their Alfreton site is one of their material processing plants, with the raw materials assembled and finished ready for shipping to their various clients. The site includes various automated cutting, joining and finishing lines, plus non-automated manual finishing lines for special orders.
As a Maintenance Engineer you will be expected to perform Mechanical repairs on all plant equipment. The bulk of the work is PPM focused, with the Engineers reacting to breakdowns as they arise. Due to the manufacturing process, the vast majority of the work is mechanical in nature includes conveyors, mixing heads, tanks, pumps, hoses.
Example reactive work includes – repairing leaks on pipes, replacing valves, blades replacing on the cutting line, gearboxes and chains breaking
Planned maintenance activities include – weekly checks of pumps and fluid levels, stripping equipment down to check for worn components that need replacing, measuring the tolerances of the parts.
Project work would include implementing upgrading or new equipment on the plan i.e new pump system being installed.
To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes:
- Must have a recognised Mechanical Engineering Qualification (Apprenticeship, City & Guilds, NVQ, HNC, HND, ONC, OND, etc)
- Must have previous experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
