Job Title – Maintenance Engineer
Location – Leicester
Salary -£30,000 to £36,000 plus generous overtime
Shifts – Panamas (2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off – 2 weeks of Days / 2 weeks of Nights)
Holidays – 21 days inclusive of Bank Holidays.
The Company
Our client is one of the Midlands largest recycling companies. With site across both the East and West Midlands, their purpose built sites can handle any form of recyclable waste. Their Stoke site processes 300,000 tonnes of mixed waste a year, with only 2.5% of this going to Landfill.
The site houses a fully automated sortation, grading, shredding, washing and bailing systems all feed by a range of manual handling equipment including Forklifts, telehandlers and light yellow goods vehicles. Thanks to the continued growth of the business and an internal promotion, they now require a new Maintenance Engineer
The Role
The Maintenance Engineer will be required to perform reactive and planned preventative maintenance on the fully automated recycling sortation facility in Leicester. This includes paper, plastic and glass sortation systems, including sub separation by colour and material type (i.e – Steel and Aluminium).
Day to day the Maintenance Engineer will be required to do the following:
- Fault finding with a multimeter on electrical systems against electrical drawings.
- Full strip down and repair of mechanical systems including:
- Hydraulics.
- Pneumatics.
- Bearings.
- Rollers.
- Conveyor Belts.
- Motors and gearboxes.
- Compressors and Pumps.
- Separators.
- Electrically the Maintenance Engineer will be:
- Changing sensors.
- Rewiring Motors.
- Changing E-stops and inverters.
- Working in Panels.
The role is biased towards reactive maintenance as they have planned shut downs for PPMs on Tuesdays.
The Candidate
To be successful in your application you must have the following skills or attributes:
- Must have completed a recognised Electrical qualification.
- Must have previous experience working as a maintenance engineer on automated plant.
- Must be Multiskilled.
