If you are a maintenance engineer looking to join a team that will be working on a brand new fully automated manufacturing site in 2022, then this may be the role for you.

ATA are supporting a national engineering business on for a mechanical maintenance engineers to join their growing team. The company who are a giant within construction materials sector, are a multi-site manufacturing business employing over 2000 people across the UK. They have been established for over 60 years and boast a portfolio of manufactured goods second to none. These goods are some of UKs most recognisable brands, which have become a staple part of the British construction market. With a turnover eclipsing £400 million the business is going from strength to strength and are set to grow even further in 2022 due to the opening of a brand-new supersite in Leicestershire. This site will be the largest and most automated of its kind in Europe.

About you

As a maintenance engineer you should be comfortable working within an industrial environment on fully automated manufacturing equipment. You should have experience completing scheduled PPMs from a CMMS system and reacting to breakdowns in a safe and timely manner. Due to the nature of the work, it would be beneficial (However not essential) for you to have an all-round strong understanding of mechanical processes, including machining, fabrication and welding.

  • Recognised mechanical engineer qualification, Level 3 or above (essential).
  • Fantastic fault-finding ability, with the ability to fault find to conclusion.
  • The ability to work within a proactive nature.

About the role

As a maintenance engineer, you will be responsible for completing ppm, reacting to breakdowns and completing remedial repair work in a busy manufacturing environment. This would be on automated plant machinery, including 3 phase equipment (415v), robotics, conveying, kiln systems, mixing equipment and heavy industrial presses. You will be responsible for completing projects that help drive forward the group’s continuous improvement and LEAN manufacturing plans.

Other responsibilities include

  • Mechanical Fault finding
  • Machine installation and upgrade work
  • Managing health and safety practices
