Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias)
Contract
Location: Sheffield
Shifts: Monday–Friday, rotating shifts (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM / 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM)
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong mechanical expertise and solid electrical understanding.
Key Responsibilities:

Planned Maintenance: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to maximise equipment uptime and longevity.

Fault Finding & Repairs: Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults on production machinery, with supporting electrical fault-finding where required.

Continuous Improvement: Contribute to engineering projects and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine performance and reliability.

Team Collaboration: Work effectively within a shift-based maintenance team, reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader.

Documentation: Accurately record maintenance activities using a CMMS system.

Multi-Skilled Support: Primarily focus on mechanical systems while supporting electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems when necessary.
Requirements:

Apprentice trained to Level 3 minimum in Mechanical Engineering (with electrical competency).

Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or production environment.

Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.

Welding and fabrication skills are highly desirable.

Experience using CMMS systems is advantageous.
